I always wonder about those sidewalk chalk drawings. Does
it take an artists mind to draw them or a mathematical mind.
Or a combination of both. Just curious.
It’s great this time of the year when the sunflowers are
ripening and producing a food source for man and beast.
    Always enjoy the photos. Thanks

that picture in the lower right is a sidewalk drawing.
I know it looks like a puddle of water but its
really a chalk drawing optical illusion. A friend
sent me an email full of them. You have to look at them
at the correct angle to get the full effect.

    Hey Valerie,

You should check out the work of M.C. Escher. He combined mathematics and imagination to create outstanding artwork.

Alistair you’ll have to settle this. Is it a optical
illusion chalk drawing or is it just a puddle of water
    with a reflection?

It’s a puddle with the reflection having been lighted by the sun.
