    hey Alistair
I was just watching escape to the country july 2008 and i felt like visiting your blog again.
I, ve been looking at this artwork a few times and as a painter myself I,m intrigued.
The first impression I got was the two deviltales, the flames and a sort of a goatpaw at one end.
It also reminds me of an interpretation of the Ankhcross.
But as i said that s all my impression.
Anyway I send a warm hug from Belgium-Antwerp with love.

Interesting combination of the Ankh and the Sailors Cross-both symbols of life everlasting. The use of color is a bit jarring, but it adds an element of vibrancy.
